Fascinating piece, Graham. And, very much needed dialogue. Why? Because not only is "Christianity" far from a monolith as Steve astutely noted — 32,000+ denominations — , the global geo-political-religious structure of our day is so complex and nothing to be compared with the days of the East-West Schism of 1054 or Martin Luther's '95 Theses' of 1517.

Take Africa for example, the continent which will record the fastest growing landscape for Christianity in this century. The idea of single digit Reformation attempt(s) across the continent is almost laughable for anyone who truly knows and understands the enormity of the linguistic and ethnic diversity and complexity. The impact of "Prosperity Gospel", as powerful and Spiritually nefarious as it is in Africa today, is but just the tip of the iceberg.

So much to say and write on this issue. Particularly as someone who has lived in the West for more than four decades but who has one leg planted in Africa including in the Church.

Thanks Graham for initiating the dialogue. I look forward to reading your next piece, the comments and adding my humble thoughts.
