Insightful piece, Karl. The utility of language, for good and unfortunately also for bad has been demonstrated in human history as far back as we have accurate information. Because language is also a predominant element in the "formation" of an individual's and society's belief system and even worldview, Esperanto faces an uphill battle in becoming global. However, kudos to Dr. Zamenhof for his noble vision.
