Thanks for your comments, Mr. Goldman. Yes the move by the UK to go into lockdown was the right one. It was based not only on science, but on evidence and data of the efficacy of social distancing, hand washing and wearing face masks in combating this NOVEL virus while researchers go full speed in search of de facto treatment and vaccine development.

You need look no further than to countries like New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan.

The lockdown is NOT “delaying the peak and collapsing the very capacity to produce things that we need to handle outbreaks”. The lockdown is to reduce spread of the virus, avoid high peaks, long plateaus and usher in fast decline to zero spread.

Remember, carriers who are asymptomatic and are moving around freely in the society pose significant risk to the public especially to the elderly and other vulnerable populations.
